San Diego Asian Film Festival
Times and Locations VaryThe 18th annual San Diego Asian Film Festival (SDAFF) kicks off Thursday, showcasing the largest exhibition of Asian American cinema in the western U.S. – from future classics to independent films. This year, more than 150 films from 20 countries, in 30 languages, will be screened during the festival, which runs through Nov. 18. This is worth a toast: Bay City Brewing Co. will release its first bottle in its barrel-aged program series, an amber brew dubbed “Bear Coltridge,” aged with passion fruit in wine oak barrels for eight months. The beer is described as tart and fruity, with mild malt sweetness. Two 750-milliliter bottles can be purchased per person at this limited release shindig, which will also feature live music and tasty bites. The event is free; bring money for beer.
